Media Notes	Dear friends, Steve died peacefully at St. Peter Hospital in the early morning of July 17, 2023. Steve’s warmth and gentle interest in all things made him a delight to everyone lucky enough to know him. He did the New York Times Sunday crossword in ink, was dedicated to daily Wordle challenges with his sisters, Elizabeth and Janet Metcalf, always knew the latest Twitter drama, and could do the key changes in any jazz standard. His love of good food, good company, and good conversation was unmatched. He engaged in life with an uncommonly open spirit and a contagious fascination. He is survived by his wife, Judy Metcalf, and his children, Tom Metcalf and Miranda Kielland Metcalf, as well as two granddaughters, Georgie and Rosie, who were undoubtedly the light of his life in his final years. He was truly a wonderful father and an inspiration to his children. Interacting with his friends around the world on Facebook was one of his favorite pastimes.
